In Helsinki we meet two types of building: the old apartment buildings of the inner city, where there has often never been measured data about temperatures, and the buildings of the 1960s–1980s suburbs, whose heat distribution centres are due for renewal. In both, the typical problem is the same: one heating curve for the whole building and large differences between the flats. Our premises are in Kilonkallio in Espoo, and remote monitoring and Kiinteistöpilvi do not depend on the distance.

Helsinki as a building stock
86 % of the dwellings in Helsinki are in apartment buildings, and almost a third of the flats in apartment buildings were completed before 1960. District heating heats 92 % of the city's apartment buildings. In the old buildings of the inner city the radiator networks rely on their original dimensioning, and in the suburbs of the 1960s–1980s the heat distribution centres are due for renewal. Non-residential buildings in Helsinki
Helsinki has 781 educational buildings, 849 retail buildings, 887 office buildings and 287 healthcare buildings — clearly the most in our whole service area. A different rule applies to them than to housing companies. A building other than a residential building, whose heating or air conditioning system has a nominal power above 290 kilowatts, must have an automation and control system, and for buildings already in use the deadline was 31 December 2024. Does measurement in the flats work in an old inner city building?
Yes. Wireless flat sensors require no cabling, and installing a sensor in a flat takes only a moment. In an old building it is often the first time there is measured data about temperatures.
How quickly is a technician on site in Helsinki?
For an urgent fault we leave immediately from Kilonkallio in Espoo. We repair many faults remotely without a visit.
